Will Hypothyroidism disqualify me from being able to join the Air National Guard?

It is controlled with medication. I have read the military fitness forms that say if it is controlled by meds, I am NOT disqualified, but my recruiter told me that I would need to come off of them in order to move forward. Some threads I have read say to worry about medical issues when I get to MEPS and then bring doctors notes/blood tests etc that say it is controlled, I was just hoping for some real world answers. People who have it and got through the recruitment process or know some real answers.
