As president, would it be smart or foolish to make every decision based on public opinion?

It would be foolish but many times the public is right. Social issues are easy to understand. Monetary and fiscal issues should be decided by people that know economics. (These people know very little about real economics-> Krugman, Bernanke, Obama)
