What is really going on in Libya?

After coming to the realization that News media like BBC and CNN has been used to sell lies in the past, i have to question everything they report. So now the "Coalition" is gearing up to attack Gaddafi's forces. Are they genuinely trying to help the people of Libya? or is their some other goal or benefit for the "Coalition"? I started to get suspicious when some SAS soldiers where caught sneaking around in Libya with fake passports, Guns and Explosives. At first glance Gaddafi looks like a madman, i do not doubt that to much, however what if their is even a little bit of truth in what he is claiming about Al Qaeda or terrorists group's leading the trouble in Libya?. I refuse to jump to conclusions about this, i just want to hear other people's opinions. :)
