Please critique the first three paragraphs of my short story?

Curious. Why is he so tortured? Is he ugly? A superhero? What? I would LOVE to know more. Who's the girl? What's her name? You've spun a web that makes me longing to know more. I love how old fashion it sounds like Jane Eyre or Frankenstein. Delightful, perfectly delightful. Keep it up.
