At the current rate of U.S. spending, how certain is economic collapse?

Just got back from a European Vacation and its all over the Newspapers that the USA is Bankrupt and going to default on loans. The Dollar is Worthless in the UK, and in Europe its worthless too. No one wants the dollar or respects it. We are the Laughing stock of Europe. The Collapse has begun but according to the Newspapers in Europe, our government is not informing the citizens of the collapse. They keep printing paper money to make us think everything is ok, and don't have the Gold to back the dollar up. Just check out the price of an ounce of Gold and it will tell you that people are no longer believing in a piece of paper that is worthless and has no value.
