The name of the movie where this little blind girl learn sign languaage?

it's an old movie probly in the era where ladies where puffy cloth and the little girl was bling and the parents hired a person to teach her sign language, it was hard at first but she eventually learn, please can someone help me find this movie i would really appreciate it.
