I let my dad down. .?

Well the other day out of blind rage I wrote a very vulgar message to myself and saved it to myself. Today, my father saw the note and said that he was disappointed and heartbroken by what I had written. I love my dad with all of my heart and that message meant absolutely nothing and was not intended to hurt him or anyone else. I feel as though I have let him down completely and that I'll never be able to earn back his respect. What do I do? :/
